WIND: A Barefoot Prayer For Direction
Because it's not always clear
Hey Lovely,
God’s predictability is one of the things we love about Him.
We don’t want a God we can figure out or second guess.
I don’t know about you but I want to follow a God who shows up and does stuff, who heals the sick, creates life out of death, order out of chaos and beauty out of ashes, but, if I’m honest God, at this stage of life as I’m figuring out what this next chapter holds, a little more guidance, if not predictability, would be helpful.
You know, maybe a map, a clear five-step plan for what you’d have us do or How about a flashing neon sign saying: “This is the way. Walk in it.”
That would be great!
And yet, from the very beginning, His breath has always brought life.
His ruach hovered over the chaos at creation.
His breath clothed dry bones with ligaments, flesh and life in the desert valley.
His Spirit came like a rushing wind at Pentecost, awakening ordinary people like us to lives of courage and purpose.
So today, before we try to figure out what’s for dinner, let alone our entire future, let’s pause to breathe with Him. To breathe Him in.
